The Course: Neonatology and Labor Care Assistance courses

Universidad Autónoma de Santa Ana, offers intensive one week summer course in the Neonatology, targeting students and professionals from the nursing area and other health areas. The course will take place during the summer, in university laboratories, communities, hospitals and health centers in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

Nursing Area Study

The course will provide knowledge about neonatology area, all the labor care assistance and more.

The course includes

• • Scientific area taught by qualified professionals in the fields of neonatology and Labor care assistance.
• Cultural area by specialized guides visiting archeological sites, historical and colonial city tours.
• Spanish course based on active participation from the students.

The Course: Living Human Anatomy

Universidad Autónoma de Santa Ana, offers intensive one week summer course in the health field, targeting students and professionals with health related backgrounds. The course will take place during the summer, in university laboratories, communities, hospitals and health centers in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

Medical Area

The course will provide knowledge about anatomical topography, muscular and bone structures, cavities, and preparation of corps.

Experience

Since 2007 with students and faculty from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, Centro América.

The course includes

• Scientific area taught by qualified professionals in the fields of anatomy.
• Cultural area by specialized guides visiting archeological sites, historical and colonial city tours.
• Spanish course based on active participation from the students.
• Depending on interest and initiative, social activities will take place in afternoons and evenings with accompaniment of teachers and outstanding students from the University.

Participants

Medical students which have completed preclinical training, Physiotherapy students, health professionals with mid-level training of minimum 3 years. Medical doctors, physiotherapists and nurses.

• Macroscopic and Microscopic Examination of fecal Specimens to identify Intestinal Protozoa: Amebae
• Macroscopic and Microscopic, Examination of fecal Specimens to identify Intestinal Protozoa: Flagellates and Ciliates
• Macroscopic and Microscopic, Examination of fecal Specimens to identify Intestinal Nematodes (Saline 0.85%, Lugol iodine and concentration)
• Macroscopic and Microscopic Examination of fecal Specimens to identify Intestinal Cestodes.
• Macroscopic and Microscopic Examination of Superficial Mycoses, Dermatophytoses. Diagnostic procedures with patients
• Microscopic examination of insects stools. (Family Reduviidae).
• Blood Bank Procedures Activity: Blood Donor Voluntary with students of the University.
